Ina land where everyone is gifted with at least a glimmer of Magic, there are a certain type of people, called Demon-Children. On the night of their sixteenth birthday, an S appears on the child’s cheek, a Stigma branding them as demons. The villagers in all of the land fear the children with S on their cheeks, but do not have to live with them long, as a woman, General Athia, comes and rounds them up, taking them to a far away place to be quarantined until a cure for their evil can be found. What the villagers don’t know is that these children aren’t evil at all. No, they are the only ones who could possibly bring down the Dark Mage Krilos, who rules over the land in secrecy. Krilos has used his power to cast a spell over the land. Any child with enough power to bring him down will have an S appear, so he knows who to destroy.
On the night of her sixteenth birthday, Alice cuts her finger, causing the S to surface, and her powers to be unleashed. Viewing the world from the eyes of a wolf, as all Demon-Children can turn into animals when triggered, Alice realizes that General Athia will come, and she flees.
Into the night she runs, leaving her family behind. Eventually, she stumbles on an isolated hut, where her friend who disappeared years ago now lives in secrecy, also a Demon-Child. Her friend, Kale, is incredibly gifted, and together the two set out to gather more Demon-Children, since a lot of them live in hiding, bring Krilos down, and bring justice to those who have been wronged.
